Mysteeq's market learning story

As I take my first step I smell delicious food coming up my nose it was like I was dreaming.

As I walked closer and closer I could see the burning sun shine on me.I Could see yummy food in people's hands. It looked so yummy. I could sprint up to the person grab the food off them and just eat it.

As I walked passed people I could hear the delicious sound of yummy food in there mouths.I could hear a bunch of kids screaming at their parents just to get them food it was so annoying they were screaming for ever.

When my parents brought me a roti I grabbed it and said “thanks” I bit it and I could taste some yummy vegetables with some beef on the side as well as the veggies.

I could feel the cool breeze brushing my legs as I was walking.It was so nice I didn't want to walk any longer I could just sit on the chair and feel the breeze hit me like there was no tomorrow.

I felt happy after I ate my food it was delicious hope you get to go to the market some time later.

As I take my first step I can hear the crowd cheering

For Stan Walker. It was like I was dreaming.

As I was wondering around with my family. I could see signs saying this ride or bouncing castle or sausage sizzle is for free for anyone. I thought it was amazing and so kind.

As I was walking past  kids and their mums I could hear them crying for some delicious food it was so annoying hearing them cry just for food. But I also felt sad for them because their mums or dads didn’t buy them any food.

When I was walking closer and closer to the food stores I could smell some delicious food ohh it smelt delicious.It was like I could run up to someone and take their food off them and just munch it down my throat of how delicious it smelt.

As I was thinking of what to eat I was annoyed because I didn’t know what to eat but when I thought about It I  thought about what I liked and finally I got what I wanted. Then I got it and I ate it when I finished. My dad called out to me and said“Time to go home now kids” And we said “ok dad”.As we were walking to the car to go home I wish we didn’t have to leave but we just had to.

Mysteeq's P.E learning story

In P.E we have been learning how to help ourselves and others.That means we have to share the ball,communicate and find a way not only to win but also have a lot of fun as well.

Then we had to test our skills in 1 activity . That one activity was dodge ball. In dodge ball we realised our teammates were getting out fast. We had 2 rounds, the first round we lost  because we weren't working together and people were hogging the ball. But the second round we had a strategy and people didn’t get out fast but we still lost.

When we were playing dodge ball I was good at giving people advice for example (catch the ball so they can get out faster). That was  making our team not get out that  fast.I think that helped my team because they were listening to the advice and doing it aswell.

I was good at giving helpful instructions a go because I was  explaining what I did step by step. For example “Then  we had to test out our skills”.

Hi  my name  is Mysteeq.But most of my friends and family call me Steeq. I'm named after my great nana.My middle name is Makerita.It is so special to me because my nana that I got named after passed on.

My ethnicity is Samoan I love my culture because it represents where i'm from and who I really am.I am 10 years old I go to Corinna School and I am in year six student.

I participate and contribute in a lot of things at my school for example sports.Good Thursday  drumming, kapa haka, polyclub and most of all class learning.So that means I  like participating in a lot of things.  

In my family we have 2 sisters and 2 brothers including me. In my house my brothers are really loud and they always get smart and annoy me.

In the house my least favorite room is my Brothers room because they go crazy and they go all over the place like some monkeys.

So now you know all about me. I Hope I will see you next time.

Athletics day

• I was good at high jump because I did the scissors and I made it over on my first shot

• I can jump high because I know how to control my body and I know how to do the scissors

• I got better at jumping because my body was nice and straight

• It is hard to know how high to jump because sometimes when you go to jump then your thigh touches the tip of the pole.

• I felt nervous when I was about to jump because I thought that I wasn’t going to make it but I did

• My next steps are to make it into inter school because i can challenge myself and others

• I am going to achieve my next steps by coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd because then I know that I have made  progress

Waitangirua Mall

Purpose:Our purpose is to write an explanation about our special community and to give a reason why it is so special to us.

We are learning to improve and read other people's writing. We also learnt how to write a conclusion.

Do you have a special place in the community?

I do,my special place in the community is the Waitangirua Mall.

Do you know what the Waitangirua Mall is?

Well we are going to tell you all about Waitangirua Mall and why it’s so special to us.

Waitangirua Mall is a special place. It's surrounded by shops, a skate park, sports playground and a local bar. Its very popular around the area I live in especially to the kids. It's the only place in our community where we can have a good time yet feel safe. A lot of families in my community go to Hungry Tiki, which is a restaurant up at the mall. I think that that's brilliant, to go up the road and still have a good time knowing that you’re not far from home, which prevents unsafe driving and keeps people off the road.

   

In my community it's surrounded by a lot of cool kids, and I think that the mall is a BRILLIANT  place to them for doing the things they do, so I reckon if we did not have the Waitangirua Mall they’d get bored.  

Clearly we have told you what is special to us about Waitangirua Mall. In fact it is truly a fantastic place for people in our community.
